Rivers & Lakes

The Philippines is endowed with 421 rivers and more than 70 lakes that serve as a major source of food and water, natural energy, and are also used for irrigation and means of transportation. Aside from serving as the natural habitat of thousands of species of plants and animals, they are also one of the prime destinations of foreign and local tourists.

Paying tribute to the important contributions these bodies of water provide the economy, Land Bank of the Philippines featured two rivers and two lakes in its 2005 calendar. Philippine Business is pleased to share with our readers the beauty of these rivers and lakes as captured in the bank’s calendar.
